Ben, Duc and Cliff drove their Land Cruisers from Sacramento to Provo, UT. Don drove from Oregon and met us at the KOA in Provo. The next morning we drove to the Silverton in Colorado’s San Juan Mountains. Wendy and Vince drove from Wyoming and met us in Silverton.

Due to the huge snow pack this year some 4 wheel drive trails were still closed in the San Juan Mountains. Avalanche debris was visible on many trails and still being cleared on some. One trail was closed while we were there by a mudslide.
After the San Juan’s we went to Canyonlands National Park, The Needles District to head over Elephant Hill 4 wheel drive trail. That rugged trail took us to Beef Basin where we camped, and next day continued south through Bear’s Ears and back on pavement near Natural Bridges National Monument. North to Hanksville and then west to Notum Road and down the Notum Rd entering Capitol Reef National Park and then picking up the Burr Trail and headed to Boulder, UT where we picked up Hwy 12. Stopped at Bryce National Park on way home.
