The award-winning National Museum of Military Vehicles (NMMV) is a world-class military history museum which opened southeast of Dubois, WY in August of 2020. Inside the 140,000 sq. foot Museum, visitors will find nearly 500 fully restored military vehicles, artillery pieces, naval vessels and aircraft dating from 1897 to the present with a current emphasis on the American experience in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The focus of the museum is to tell the stories of how these vehicles were used and to remember the valor of service members who fought, and sometimes died, in them. Tickets are good for two days and if you take your time you will need it.  There are two tours, the morning one covering WWII and the afternoon one covers Korea and Vietnam.

The founder of the Museum is Dan Starks and on occasion he still gives tours so you might check when he is giving tours to plan your visit. Some folks staying at our Dubois RV park had Dan as their tour guide and couldn’t say enough about how good it was.

The over 100 photos here capture only a piece of the NMMV.  In addition to the vehicles I missed there is much more in the murals and plaques that explain the history of the time and use of the vehicles.   The photos are divided into Pre WW2, WW2, Korean War and Vietnam War, however many vehicles spanned a number of wars.  The lighting is on the dark side in the museum so photography is a bit of challenge.
