The first week of October we went in search of Fall colors in Utah and Colorado.  With off-roading in our plans we took the Land Cruiser and the Armada towing our trailer.  Susan drove the Land Cruiser between the RV Parks while Cliff drove the Armada.  After leaving Springville, UT our first stop was Loa, UT where we stayed one night at the Fremont River RV Park.  After arriving we drove to Boulder Mountain where we encountered some rain showers and a bit of hail.  Dinner at the Rock Reef Café our favorite pizza place in Torrey.  The next morning we went to Fishlake, UT.  Fishlake is the location of Pando, a clonal quaking aspen stand, that, according to some sources, is the oldest (80,000 years) and largest (106 acres, 13 million pounds) organism on Earth.  That afternoon we headed for the KOA in Ouray, CO for three nights.

From Ouray our first day we explored over to Telluride and south on Hwy-145 to Rico.  Our second day we drove US-550 (The Million Dollar Highway) south past Silverton.  We also took a 4WD road up to Corkscrew Pass for a view of the Red Mountains area.
